Effective date: 11 September 2026

OGB Parties (“OGB,” “we,” “us” or “our”) organises private, invitation-only adult social events in Nova Scotia. Screening, compatibility and consent require us to collect information that may be exceptionally private, including information about sexual interests, boundaries and health.

We treat this information as highly sensitive. This Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how it may be used or disclosed, how long we retain it and the choices available to you.

This Policy applies to information collected through ogbparties.ca, our application questionnaires, membership process, event administration and direct communications. It does not govern independent websites or platforms such as FetLife or other social-media services.

1. Accountability and contact

OGB is responsible for personal information under its control.

Questions, access requests, correction or deletion requests, withdrawals of consent and privacy complaints may be directed to:

Privacy Lead
OGB Parties
info@ogbparties.ca

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request, but we will not ask you to provide more information than reasonably necessary for that purpose.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with OGB, we may collect:

  • Experience with group play or similar events
  • Physical characteristics and participant preferences
  • Sexual orientation, interests, fantasies and preferred activities

  • Your responses to screening, safety and conduct questions
  • Other information you voluntarily include in an application or communication

Health and safety information

  • Smoking, alcohol and recreational-drug information
  • STI-testing information and safer-sex requirements
  • Accessibility, allergy or other health information you choose to provide

Please do not provide medical information beyond what is requested or reasonably necessary for event safety and informed participation.

Membership and event information

  • Membership number and administrative notes
  • Invitations, acceptances, attendance and event history
  • Compatibility and event-planning notes
  • Rule-enforcement, removal or membership-termination records
  • Communications with OGB before or after an event

Photographs and recordings

We may collect photographs, video or audio only under a separate, express consent process. Agreeing to membership or attending an event is not consent to being photographed or recorded.

Payment information

We may collect records of membership or event payments, refunds and amounts owing. Where a payment processor is used, that provider may collect payment-card or banking information directly. OGB does not intend to retain complete payment-card details.

Website information

Our hosting provider and website systems may automatically process:

  • IP address
  • Browser, device and operating-system information
  • Date, time and pages requested
  • Referring website
  • Security, diagnostic and server-log information
  • Cookies necessary for website operation

Questionnaire submissions may pass through website-hosting, form-processing and email systems before being entered into OGB’s restricted membership records.

3. Why we collect and use information

OGB collects and uses personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries
  • Assess applications and verify eligibility
  • Confirm that applicants are adults
  • Screen prospective members for safety and compatibility
  • Administer memberships
  • Plan events around participants’ interests, boundaries and hard limits
  • Identify potentially compatible participants
  • Issue and manage event-specific invitations
  • Communicate event arrangements and safety information
  • Administer payments and refunds
  • Enforce membership agreements and codes of conduct
  • Investigate complaints, incidents or suspected rule violations
  • Protect participants, organisers, venues and the public
  • Maintain website and information security
  • Meet legal, accounting, insurance and contractual requirements
  • Establish, exercise or defend legal claims

We will not use application answers for unrelated advertising, sell or rent membership information, or use intimate information to build advertising profiles.

Applications are reviewed by people. OGB does not make membership or event-invitation decisions solely through automated decision-making.

4. Consent

By submitting an application, you expressly consent to OGB collecting and using the information you provide for screening, membership administration, compatibility, safety and event planning as described in this Policy.

The FetLife matching process is an essential part of OGB membership. As part of your application, you will be asked to expressly consent to OGB sharing your FetLife username and profile with Receivers and other prospective participants when considering you for a specific event. OGB may be unable to complete your application, propose you as a participant or invite you to events if you do not provide—or later withdraw—this consent.

Becoming a FetLife friend or follower of the OGB account does not, by itself, constitute consent to disclosure. OGB relies on the express consent obtained through its application or membership process.

Because much of the information collected by OGB is highly sensitive, separate express consent will still be required before:

  • Disclosing your complete questionnaire or individual questionnaire answers
  • Using a photograph, audio recording or video recording
  • Using information for a materially different purpose
  • Making an optional disclosure that is not reasonably necessary for screening, matching, membership administration or a proposed event

You may decline to answer an optional question. If information is reasonably necessary for screening, consent, safety or compatibility, declining to provide it may mean that OGB cannot complete your application or invite you to an event.

You may withdraw consent by contacting the Privacy Lead. Withdrawal applies to future uses and disclosures and will not affect information already shared with your consent. Withdrawal may prevent OGB from continuing your membership, proposing you for events or administering your participation.

5. Information shared for event matching

Membership does not authorise OGB to disclose your complete questionnaire to other members.

FetLife profiles are OGB’s primary tool for allowing Receivers to assess the suitability of proposed Givers and for allowing prospective participants to make informed compatibility decisions. With the express consent obtained during the application or membership process, OGB may share your FetLife username and profile link with:

  • A Receiver considering whether to approve you as a proposed Giver
  • Other prospective participants considering whether to attend the same event
  • Organisers involved in screening, matching and event planning

OGB may also share limited event-relevant information reasonably necessary for informed participation. This may include an alias, general description, proposed role, interests, boundaries, safer-sex requirements and compatibility information.

OGB will not share your complete questionnaire or disclose additional identifying, health or intimate information unless the disclosure is reasonably necessary, has been explained to you and is covered by your express consent.

A person receiving profile or matching information must use it only for screening or deciding whether to participate in the proposed event. They must not copy, publish, redistribute or use it to contact, harass or identify another person outside the OGB matching process.

6. Other disclosures

OGB may disclose personal information:

  • To organisers and authorised personnel who require it for screening, event administration or safety
  • To website-hosting, form-processing, email, payment, security, backup or other service providers, but only to the extent reasonably necessary for them to provide services to OGB
  • With your express consent
  • To investigate or respond to a complaint or safety incident
  • When reasonably necessary to address an immediate threat to a person’s health or safety
  • To obtain legal, insurance or professional advice
  • To comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order or other lawful requirement
  • Where otherwise required or permitted by law

Service providers may use information only for the services they provide to OGB and remain subject to their contractual and legal obligations.

OGB does not sell or rent personal information.

7. Service providers and storage

OGB may use third-party services, including:

  • Rebel.com for website hosting and related services
  • WordPress and associated form or security tools
  • Email and communications providers
  • A locally stored Ninox database for membership and event records; OGB does not use Ninox Cloud for these records
  • Payment, backup and security providers, where applicable

Some service providers may process or store information outside Nova Scotia or outside Canada. Information held in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws and may be accessible to its courts, law-enforcement agencies or regulators.

OGB remains responsible for personal information under its control and selects service providers with regard to the sensitivity of the information involved.

8. Retention and deletion

OGB retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or to meet legal, insurance, accounting and safety obligations.

Unless a longer period is reasonably required:

  • Incomplete applications: retained for up to 30 days after the last activity
  • Withdrawn or unsuccessful applications: intimate questionnaire responses deleted within 90 days
  • Minimal screening records: an alias, contact identifier, decision, date and necessary safety notation may be retained for up to two years where reasonably required to administer future applications, prevent abuse or preserve the integrity of screening
  • Active-member records: retained while membership remains active
  • Inactive or ended memberships: ordinary membership and questionnaire information deleted or anonymised within two years after the last activity
  • Identification documents: inspected for verification and not copied or retained unless reasonably necessary and expressly explained
  • STI documents: reviewed only when required and deleted promptly after verification; OGB may retain the date verified, applicable testing period and any participant-stated safer-sex requirement
  • Payment and accounting records: retained for the period required by tax and accounting law
  • Incident, complaint, insurance and legal records: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate the matter, protect participants and address possible claims
  • Photographs and recordings: governed by the applicable media consent and retained only for the authorised purpose

Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove information from secure backups. Backup copies will be protected from ordinary use and deleted or overwritten in the normal backup cycle.

OGB may retain information longer where litigation is reasonably anticipated, a legal preservation obligation applies or deletion would compromise an active safety investigation. Access will remain restricted during that period.

9. Security

OGB uses administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the exceptional sensitivity of the information, including:

  • Restricting access to designated organisers with a legitimate need to know
  • Password-protected accounts and devices
  • Access controls for membership records
  • Security updates and protective website tools
  • Careful handling of application exports and attachments
  • Secure deletion or destruction when information is no longer required
  • Limiting the information disclosed during event matching

No website, email system or database can be guaranteed completely secure. Applicants should not submit information that OGB has not requested or that is unnecessary for the application.

If OGB experiences a privacy breach, we will investigate, contain and document it and will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where required by law.

10. Access and correction

You may ask OGB to:

  • Confirm whether we hold personal information about you
  • Explain how it has been used or disclosed
  • Provide access to your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete information that is no longer reasonably required
  • Withdraw a consent
  • Explain a membership decision to the extent that doing so would not reveal another person’s confidential information or compromise safety and screening

We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Access may be limited where disclosure would reveal another person’s information, compromise a confidential investigation, create a serious safety risk or where another lawful exception applies.

11. Photography, recording and intimate images

Phones, cameras and recording devices are governed by OGB’s event rules.

OGB will not treat a general membership agreement, questionnaire response or event attendance as consent to photography or recording. Any authorised recording requires a separate description of:

  • What will be recorded
  • Who will record it
  • Who may access it
  • How it may be used
  • Where and how long it will be stored
  • Whether publication is contemplated
  • How consent may be withdrawn and the practical limits of withdrawal

Members must not create, possess, distribute or publish an intimate image of another participant without that person’s specific consent.

12. Children

OGB is restricted to adults aged 19 and over. We do not knowingly collect applications from minors.

If we learn that a person under 19 has submitted information, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible, subject to any legal or safety obligation requiring limited retention.

13. External platforms and links

OGB may communicate through FetLife or other third-party platforms, and our website may link to external services. Those providers operate under their own privacy policies and security practices.

Information posted publicly or shared through a third-party platform is not controlled by this Policy. We encourage members to review the privacy settings and policies of any platform they use.

14. Changes to this Policy

OGB may update this Policy as its practices, service providers or legal obligations change.

Material changes affecting the use or disclosure of sensitive information will be brought to affected applicants or members’ attention. Where required, OGB will obtain new consent before using previously collected information for a materially different purpose.

The effective date at the beginning of the Policy indicates the latest revision.

15. Complaints

Please direct privacy concerns to the OGB Privacy Lead at info@ogbparties.ca. We will investigate and respond as reasonably appropriate.
